TAXES Galveston rentals are taxed at 15%. Treasure Island rentals are taxed at 6%. These Hotel/Motel Occupancy taxes are added to each rental per state and local authority. FEES A $100 non-refundable pet fee is added to each rental that brings a pet to a pet allowable home. All fees are taxable at the above rates. Travel Insurance is available to all renters at 6.5% of total rental. During any rental, our homes require a refundable CASH $400 to $1000 security deposit, the purpose of which is to enable the owner to recover some of the expenses incurred for repairing damages caused by obvious abuse or neglect, for special cleaning requirements, for overuse of the home, or for unnecessary service calls by guests or failure to properly dispose of trash. Homes that do not have a Security Deposit do not relieve renters from the responsibility or financial liability of caring for the home while in their care. The deposit can be tendered in CASH, Money order, travelers' checks or Cashier check. It CAN NOT be put on Credit card or personal check. Agent, or Agent's representative, will inspect property after Tenant's departure and will bill for all costs for damages due to extra cleaning, repairs, or replacements not reported to CENTURY 21 Bay Reef Realty. Tax must be charged on the assessed damage amount. The tenant shall remain responsible for such costs and agrees to pay promptly when notified by Agent of assessed amount. Rearranging of furniture and/or disconnecting any TV or stereo components are not permitted and will be construed as willful damage. TENANT MUST LEAVE PROPERTY "BROOM CLEAN" AND READY FOR THE NEXT GUEST, ALL DISHES WASHED AND PUT AWAY, ALL FOOD REMOVED FROM REFRIGERATOR AND ALL TRASH REMOVED FROM HOME, ALL BEDS MADE PRIOR TO DEPARTURE AT CHECK OUT. Damage/Security Deposits are mailed to the guest of record only. Security deposits will be postmarked after the fourteenth (14) business day from the date of departure. Any damage and/or extra cleanings will be deducted from the security deposit. Each
